Using a line out converter (LOC)

I am using a line out converter to convert some high level wires out of my head unit to rcas. My head unit only has two pairs of rcas. I need another channel.

As of now the line out converter(loc) is connected to the sub channel(channel 5)

Would there be any advantage to changing the loc to channel 3 and 4 rear speakers(which are being used for rear fill)?

Also the loc has left and right gain settings. I assume I should set these high and then adjust the channel gain on the amp?

Thanks

Thanks for explaining. I will try it and if its noisy or the signal deteriorates I will switch to a y spltter:)

But going back to original point(although I definitely appreciate what you are saying) if I switch the loc onto the rear channel, where I need a small amount of power for the rear fill. Wouldn't that make sense?

I mean the fifth channel on the external amp.No factory amp

Channel one and two- front component speakers and tweeters crossovers.

Channel three and four -rear coaxial speakers(for rear fill only)

Channel five- subwoofer

so you want to use the actual channel 3 and 4 off the amp to feed the amps 5th channel input to power a sub?
I would like to use the high level wires that come from the head unit that go into the loc. to run my 3 and 4 channels(for the rear speakers)rear fill.

My head unit rcsa will do channel 1and 2 (front speakers) and the other rcas will do channel 5 (for the sub)

yea im not sure myself. Im assuming he wants to tap into the radios amp (rear left and rear right channel) to the loc and the loc to the woofer but if the rear channels on the head unit are crossover VIA the headunit it won't work.

IE you can but you need to bypass the head units crossovers and use strictly the amps crossover on the rears in order to get a full bandwidth signal.

If you understand this, what affect will swopping the high level outputs/rcas that go to the sub and changing to channel 3 and 4 on the amp?

Wouldnt that be better as the rear speakers on channel 3 and 4 require only a small amount of power as theya re only rear fill.
