Using a Distribution Block & Capacitor in Conjuction?

I was planning on getting a Soundstream Power Plant Distribution block and 2.0 Farad capacitor.

Distribution block comes from the battery, and then all the power cables go out from there to all the components, correct?

And then the capacitor comes right after the Distribution block, correct? And what are the advantages/disadvantages of both?

I could be 100% wrong, but that is why I am asking. Thank you for any help.

Really? I heard they stop the dimming of the headlights which damages your battery...

What about the Distribution block though, is it worth it for $60?

Capacitors are a waste of money.

And $60 for a distribution block is way too much, unless you need to know the voltage @ the amps all the time...
