Makes perfect sense to me, and oh yea look at the date of the post, and look at the join date of the non believers.

After skimming over this thread I have noticed 3 things.

One- there is a right time to use a capacitor. Many don't know the hassles a cap can cure. It is NOT the cure for an inadequate power sulpply to the amp.

Two- people don't listen when you tell them they are wrong.

Three- there are a few here who have an attitude that is harmful rather than helpful. Look at the OP's situation and help him, don't spend your whole life bashing him.

There are some links below that will give you some information on how a cap works. The MAIN REASON I use a capacitor is to filter out the AC component that the DC current flows on. Kinda hard to explain. Its best function is to act as a filter to clean up your power source. Please read the ENTIRE page on both sites to gain knowledge on capacitors, you might even change your mind about them. Pay close attention to the parts talking about filtering AC current and cleaning the power source.

Quoted from your LINK

Also you should read your articles from a couple pages back, 2 of em said the same thing just different posters.

Honestly Just Give up your fighting a losing battle because the reasons your use a cap are wrong. If you were using it to clean your signal then great but they dont help with dimming.

Actually my voltage always stayed about 2v higher when running full tilt and using a cap.

On a 1000 watt amp that should be good for a couple hundred watts, eh?

If your system requires an external cap, you need to upgrade your wiring and/or your amplifier(s). Amp makers put caps in the input stages of their amplifiers.... so why do we assume they put an insufficient amount of them in it? Because we assume our amps **** balls?
