Using a capacitor as a distribution block? Need help

I just recently got my 4 channel amp installed and the installers hooked both of them up using my stinger 1 farad cap. Is this a good idea and will it affect the sound quality at all? I got a 4 guage running to the cap and 2 8's coming out should i upgrade the 8's or just go buy a distribution block and use the cap only for the subs?

I know the common consensus on ca.com is to say that a capacitor is totally and utterly useless, but in this case you have it and the way you are using it is fine. I have found capacitors to be helpful, just not for the reason they are marketed at. In some of my vehicles where noise was being introduced and I tried every avenue possible (including bringing my car to other "professional" installers), I installed a capacitor and it filtered out the noise. Of course later on I did realize that was a band aid for my problem because my mids/highs amp had something wrong with it and when I replaced it I no longer needed the capacitor.

In another install, I utilized a capacitor for a friend because it had a voltage meter on top

Would i recommend using a capacitor if your lights are dimming? Hell no, my advice would be to address the problem by upgrading your electrical system.
