Usb noise Kenwood x399

Just picked up an x399 the other day since I got rid of my 397 with my last vehicle. I installed it today and noticed that there is a good deal of background noise while playing back from an ipod touch via usb. When I use any other source, to include bluetooth from the ipod, the noise is greatly reduced. I have tried three different usb cables and have the same result with all of them. Any one else experience usb noise with phones and iPods? Any idea what it might be? going to try another iPhone in the morning.

Yup had same problem with my x998.

My video shows bluetooth static noise. Is this similar to your issue?



I contacted Kenwood they said it was defective unit. Exchanged it for same one issue now gone.

Its not quite that noticeable but its definitely there, this morning it was below 10F and it made some terrible high pitched noise. Ill contact both kenwood and crutch field to see what they say.

I just installed a x399 in my daughter's civic. We haven't gotten far enough to test the USB yet, but will soon. We're having an awful time reading the display. In anything but darkness it is very difficult to read. I was wondering what your impression of the display on yours is. Thanks!

Kenwoods having lots of issues with their newer USB decks...on sound problems...

For your display darkness press the volume knob turn the knob to DISPLAY then press volume knob then turn the volume knob to DIMMER press volume knob turn knob to select OFF.You can also adjust brightness by following the same steps until you see BRIGHTNESS.

Bump from the grave.. The brightness of the display is really starting to grind my gears.. might move it down to where the pocket is and move the pocket up top?
