US censored pictures of hiroshima + nagasaki

The American occupation forces imposed strict censorship on Japan, prohibiting anything "that might, directly or by inference, disturb public tranquility" and used it to prohibit all pictures of the bombed cities. The pictures remained classified 'top secret' for many years. Some of the images have been published later by different means, but it's not usual to see them all together. This is the horror they didn't want us to see, and that we must NEVER forget:

heres the only picture im gonna post, the rest are gross and nasty

This photograph shows an eyeball of an A-bomb victim who got an atomic bomb cataract. There is opacity near the center of the eyeball.

We bombed them over 50 years ago. We were at war. People died. The war ended. We were attacked first. Innocent died in both occations.

Classified pictures? So, who cares. They all fried and died. RIP.

What about those 70000+ soilders that were caputred by japan in the Philippines and put into camps, forced them into slavery, starved them and tortured to death over a few years, when rescued less then 1000 remained.

I think dragging on certain death for years is by far, A LOT more cruel then a quick boom and its over IMO. They asked for it, US delivered. They were lucky they chose to use the A bombs. Atleast thats quick, the firebombing created a firestorm and it burned for days.

They could just as easily dropped napalm. It doesnt sound as bad, but it made hell on earth a reality for those that experienced it.

Are you guys seriously that heartless. 250,000 people died in like a minute from that bomb and it said that over 65% of the casulaties were children under 9 years old. Not to mention the thousand that have died since then from all the radation fall out. Almost everyone who died in the atomic blast were innocent and had nothing to do with the war what so ever.

144,000 american lives were lost in WW2 IIRC.

And that was again 50 years ago. They are all gone. All of them...the president, the vice president, the soldiers...all of them.

Thats great...What about the what 7million Jews that died?

Its all ****ed up, but its from 50 years ago. I dont think that we should EVER forget, but there is no point in bringing up conspiracy theories now.

I'd be willing to be that over 75% of the 144,000 were soldiers not innocent people. And we wernt talking about the holocaust but yes thats was a very F'ed up situation. And you have to learn from the past you learn from the mistakes of other people if we didnt then we would be nowhere
