i kinda feel like that video is bs, i dont know military protocal but im sure those boats would have been destroyed in a 20 min standoff with no communication

they had communication. Things are too touchy to just start shooting . Despite what I posted earlier.

i had an uncle that worked for nasa that said we were working on hydrogen cars back in the 70's and when they got near a prototype that was going to be able to put combustion vehicles out of business the government halted the project with no reason given. one day they were working on it and the next day the entire thing was destroyed.......
"hybrid" cars are a joke and only out there to make people think they are trying to come up with alternate fuels. didnt george bush make his millions from oil? you think he wants to put himself out of business?

and ive been told by friends in the military that were going to war with iran for years. were already starting the transition from iraq. a friend of mine thats a marine thats going to iraq in a month said that hes only going to train their military and police. he said he assumes so theyll be on our side when we fight iran.

when shit starts blowing up randomly and we are attacked like we have attacked it will be chaotic for sure. 9-11 was an attack on a large scale. we haven't seen too many small scale terrorist attacks. the whole "warning level" is b/s. the government just wants you to be scared so they have more control over you and you will support their actions.

Bush will not go to war with Iran. It's too late in his presidency and if he did (with the current blue swing supposedly is happening/will happen) the republicans would crucify him.

Unless they attacked us.

Exactamondo -- in the first two weeks after Katrina it was very difficult to get fuel and people really were starting to panic -- anarchy was not out of the question had the problem persisted. That was just in a small region for a limited time. Imagine if that problem was nationwide with no end in sight.

whats sad is that our government has given me no reason whatsoever to trust them, so i take any of the bullshit they spew with a grain of salt. not saying that i believe anything one way or the other, just that i'm growing rather accustomed to my government lying to me every chance it gets.

Who ever was in charge there had a lot more patience then I ever would have. I would have pulled the trigger long before.

What if those boats were packed with explosives and used as large torpedoes, its been done before.

No way would I have let it get withing 200 meters, a boat with that kind of power could close that gap pretty **** quick.

Shoot first ask questions later, might not be morally right but it keeps you alive.

If you were on a boat thinking about the USS Cole bombing, and knowing Iran's provocative history you probably would have gotten uptight and trigger happy with foreign boats cruisin at you telling you your gonna explode.

for serious. but i guess they were confident in their ability in protecting themselves, and as mentioned earlier, there is a lot of tension, and I personally would not want to be the guy responsible for pissing off iran and starting a war with them.
