US and Iran confrontation tape released

Honestly though, the only way we will ever invest enough in alternative fuel sources to make a difference is if something drastic happens.
I'd much rather have something like that happen when I'm still young enough to have a fighting chance against the chaos instead of when I'm all old and decrepit.

Exactamondo -- in the first two weeks after Katrina it was very difficult to get fuel and people really were starting to panic -- anarchy was not out of the question had the problem persisted. That was just in a small region for a limited time. Imagine if that problem was nationwide with no end in sight.

I say we don't bomb them, I say we negotiate for taco's and weed for insuring their protection.
Hah, the US could become the Sopranos of the west.

i had an uncle that worked for nasa that said we were working on hydrogen cars back in the 70's and when they got near a prototype that was going to be able to put combustion vehicles out of business the government halted the project with no reason given. one day they were working on it and the next day the entire thing was destroyed.......
"hybrid" cars are a joke and only out there to make people think they are trying to come up with alternate fuels. didnt george bush make his millions from oil? you think he wants to put himself out of business?

and ive been told by friends in the military that were going to war with iran for years. were already starting the transition from iraq. a friend of mine thats a marine thats going to iraq in a month said that hes only going to train their military and police. he said he assumes so theyll be on our side when we fight iran.
i agree with what your saying, ive read that we promised iraq, military protection after we pull out in exchange for interests in their oil, this makes it more obvious why were over there, same thing in iran im sure

eh ur also talking a class of people that instead of walking a couple miles north to get out of the water they ***** and looted just because they could.

this may be a very optimistic view but i think you might see the goodwill towards man attitude like we saw for about a month after 9/11. at least for a couple months, then who knows.

I just want to know when iI will be able to spend my amero. It is burning a hole in my pocket.
I want to know where I can spend my canadian quarters. I used to get pissed when I got some in change when I was a kid and didn't notice, basically worthless. Now I'm savin them biches...gonna be worth alot someday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

when shit starts blowing up randomly and we are attacked like we have attacked it will be chaotic for sure. 9-11 was an attack on a large scale. we haven't seen too many small scale terrorist attacks. the whole "warning level" is b/s. the government just wants you to be scared so they have more control over you and you will support their actions.

BTW, i am former military if that matters

I can't speak for the rest of the country, but the whole boy that cried wolf scenario has already played out. I don't pay any attention to the "warning levels" anymore

Actually I am not talking about New Orleans specifically. I am talking about communities hours north of the coast that were affected as well. There is a big, big difference between a guy in Omaha donating money to 9/11 victims and people's reactions to having no fuel, electricity throughout a region.

x2i felt that system was b.s from day one
really and truly i think the system is serving its purpose. now instead of their being chaos everyday and people wondering if we are going to get attacked the general population looks and that and it probably gives them a false sense of security that things are ok.

if the government didnt at least try and calm our nerves there would be militia men knocking down the white house doors and people going nuts not knowing whats going on.

and i was just commenting on the new orleans thing. im sure if shit started blowing up there would be chaos. people just said if there was an oil shortage there would be mass chaos.

In fact i like my plan so much i think i will have some bumper stickers made up.
I think they will say "I SUPPORT HIGHER GAS PRICES" and i will put them on random cars belonging to other people.

Save some money.

Just put "W04" stickers on their cars.

Im sure those are going cheap now.

And there would -- if the "shortage" was severe enough. No doubt about it whatsoever.
and if you read my original post i said, it may be an optimistic view but i think that if it happened for at least a couple months we would probably have a goodwill toward man attitude just like we did after 9/11. remember when everyone pulled together, loved america and got along for about a month. then everyone went back to being the dicks they always were.

I understand, but I consider what I saw a wakeup call. The vast majority of the people were treating others well. There were, however, some real fewls out there. I actually had a gun pulled on me in a gas line. True story.
