If the ones Flakko sold were the 06's with the terminals down the center, and those were the ones with the high failure rate, then this amp is the better version since it's got the newer heatsink and terminals on the side. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe the 06 and 07 are the same. They didn't re-design it until the 08 version I believe.

06 and 07 have different heatsink designs though, I don't know about the internals.
