That damage, from what I can see from the pics, is purely cosmetic. The internal port walls were not damaged, port still appears sealed, nor was port length compromised in any way. Its a bummer it needs some cosmetic work now, assuming the port will be exposed to view, but it likely wont affect the performance any.

I was worried about port noise

Does the seller file the claim or do I?

from the pics, you still have the pieces, woodglue them back best you can, then wood filler any other holes/pieces again best you can, let it dry, very light sand any excess and shape to your liking then go over it with paint or carpet to hide what you can't fix.

It amazes me how my original Type-R and box made it through the mail with no problems and it was just chillin in a cardboard box with no padding or anything.
