UPS can **** it.....FED EX came early!!!

so what tuning did you end up with?
I think around 24-25. I got to listen to it tonight on the home theater setup. The tuning seems VERY low. It's acceptable for music but for movies (end of The Last Samurai) it blows up my entire apartment!

I'm thinking that the box is a touch too big. The guy at elemental designs told me 3 cubes before port and sub displacement. I felt like that was pretty big and I think I might be right. I'm thinking about taking the sub out and gluing/screwing in some pieces of wood on the inside of the box to fill some space. Any disadvantages to that?

please dont join their shitty forum.
Dont plan to...

shorten the port......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
I could shorten the port but that would only solve one of my small problems. If I filled the box with something it would not only raise the tuning frequency but lower the boxes net volume.

Does that sound right to everyone? I feel that 3 cubes was a little big for it and I need to take it down a touch.

i just picked up a 500rms bash amp from PE for $155...free shipping...

plan on doing a single 12 at 2.5 to 3 cubes with two 3 inch ports or a single 15 with two 4 inch ports all tuned to low 20's...

i think your box is fine...imo

Nice!

Yeah, my box is pretty much fine but I think I would get a little more out of the higher frequencies if it had a little less space. I just feel like there is too much air in the box and it does a lot of compression inside instead of moving air out. If I do fill a little space I was considering that "Great Stuff" spray insulation. Just get a little of that in the corners and let it expand a little.

Do you think I would get better "music" response if I did this?

Next time you might want to consider filling in the screw heads, routering the corners round, and doing a general sanding over all that before laying out the stain. I think it looks good, just a suggestion.

Where are you guys getting your birch plywood??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I ask around the lumber yards here and they act like Im speaking Greek.

Most of the screw heads are flush with the wood. The corners were routed only a tiny bit just so they weren't sharp corners. They are rounded fairly well. I did indeed sand the wood before staining. Pics dont really show how good it looks. The flash sort of distorts it.

I got my birch at Lowes. $40 for a 4'x8' sheet. Twice as much as MDF but **** it's worth every penny!
