Upgrading question

Hi,..Recently regained my interest in car audio, and thought I'd post a few questions concerning upgrading my system.

Background: Basic 2 amp system, Alpine MRV 50x4 RMS powering the front components andback "6x9"'s. Alpine MRV 75x2 RMS powering 2 10W0's in a sealed enclosure. Both amps and subs are roughly 8 yrs old

Not especially happy with the bass lately, it just doesnt seem to be as loud, or as clean as it used to. It seemed to become much more noticeable when I upgraded my deck to the premier 760MP ( from an 8 yr old deck with 0.5 preout //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ). The front stage improved dramatically though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I was planning on upgrading the subs, and was looking into 2 Alpine type R 10's in a sealed enclosure.

Question is, will they be severly underpowered with my current amp? Mainly after sq by the way, but still want to get fairly loud occassionally. My current budget would allow for a new amp, with the needed power for the new subs. However, would this then mean I would need a new amp for the fronts and backs also??

Any advice or opions would be appreciated

Thanx in advance

Understandable for a sub- in a way a sub is like a p u s s y , nice n tight at first and with age and abuse it gets loose and sloppy- surrounds get more porous

If the Type R's are your choice of sub you def need to feed them more power- But if budget doesn't allow so, have you thought of bridging that 2ch and running a single 10/12?

Do you think the 2 channel amp, bridged mono will be enough power for one 12' Alpine type R in a sealed enclosure then? How will it sound 'vs' the 2 jl's when they were new? ( i know its tough to answer but assuming well made boxes in both cases) ?

p.s are amps also like p u s s y ' s ??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nope, and if you dont believe me try giving it a lick on the output when its turned on..... :boobies:

It all depends on your budget of course- but for instance my brother is running a Soundstream SA120(180rms bridged) to a Kicker Solobaric(12"round) that handles +425rms in a 1.5 cu/ft box (subs are intended for 0.66-0.88) and it pounds his Toyota Celica silly and puts out great SQ

So if you go a lil bigger on the enclosure , a Type R may use that power more efficiently
