ok so currently i have a single 12" alpine type r

im debating upgrading to a new sub.... what would be the loudest single 12 i could get?

i like the whole single sub.... DAYAM thats ONLY 1 12"?!? reaction haha

people around hear are shocked that i can do mid 130's with my single 12 in a sealed box.....

the new sub will b in ported box too....

any ideas?

yeah i can do mid 130s with this one sealed on 1100 rms @ 2 ohm which seems sorta impressive around here beacuse nobody really has ported boxes... they jsut get like 2 12s in a seald box or something

i know i havent had a chance to port it yet... would it be good on the 1100 watt rms still or do i need to change?
there will be a NIGHT AND DAY different with that type-R ported, trust me. I've had many type-R installs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It will take the 1100RMS if you're careful. Ive always fed 12" R's 800-1k

hmm well by careful waht do u mean....

i only turn it up for competitions or showing off but when i ride around i turn the bass down ....

is it bad for the sub if i put my H/U at -4bass but use the bass boost? i get a cleaner sounding bass from that for some reason?

or is that worse for my sub?

my level isnt all the way up either my amp is set up so my sub maxes out around 40/50 volume....

wat do ut hink?

1) turn the bass boost off

2) set the bass level to zero (preferably for signal reasons)

3) properly set your gains with a DMM

ported, you will be able to tell how the type-R reacts to the power, that vent will allow you to smell whats going on to the drivers components.

if your car starts to stink like burning electrical components, your cooking the coil on the R, turn down the volume.
