if you have a DMM you can just probe the terminal of box or the amp's speaker output terminal to get the final ohm load and figure out the vc config.

Certainly a tough decision on upgrading, I would vote for just getting another and knowing you got pretty much the best out there. If your set on changing up there are some good suggestions, maybe look into the JBL WGTi also.

yay i have an idmax.... just got it two days ago. I never thought i would own one as it was my dream sub. Dreams come true and it really is the best overall sub i have ever heard/owned. I was thinking about your upgrade question earlier.... "how much better can a sub be?" I think the answer is there isnt one... you will just have to keep buying more idmax's if you want louder or maybe drop down to the IDQv3 if you want cleaner. Honestly though i have a 10" idqv3 and the max sounds just as good if not better.... sooo with that in mind i dont think you can upgrade my man. Congrats you have graduated from subwoofer investments

well already have two 12" idmax's in a nissan maxima daily driver...not too much trunk space left
