Upgrade from cvr15 to RL-p 15

1. I didn't say it isn't a good sub, I just said don't excpect a significant increase in SPL
2. No, it won't take 1200 watts daily and sound awesome. First off it didn't sound like it was producing any more power than my old sub, and it kept bottoming out from the power. So don't go telling people it will sound good with that amount of power, because i have personally used one with that amount it and it fell on its face. If you want it to be loud, get 2 of them and run each w/ 600 watts or so. Its not made to handle crazy amounts of power like that unless you want it to break. I also had it in a small sealed box and it still did all of this.

im not trying to cut your test or opinion but go here and read some of the threads....

i have mine right now on a little over 2600 watts rms (oscoped for verification)daily in a ported enclosure in the back of my wifes car (till i get the next 2 in then going into my wall and also for break in) and i have no problems with bottoming out and i hammer them every time i drive her car and they love it they get loud and sound good also ive had them for a week and half now and they are great go here and read whatevery else has said about the rlp's there is at least one more over there that has a rlp on 1200 rms in a ported enclosure daily...

i dunno, maybe mine was defective or something. The only opinions though I can give on that sub are the ones from my car, ive never heard it anywhere else.

yes definately. They are only rated for 600 watts
1st off....there are rated at 500wrms.

Secondly....your install must have been horrible..... i went from a XXX 15" to 2 12" RL-p's and there was only a slight SPL lose from the XXX to 12"s and the SQ went up. This is one of the best installs that i've ever had and believe me there are plenty of installs under my belt over the last 16-17 years.

yea its funny how after everyone posts against someone they always say this...

man the RLP is the shit. I was thinkin about gettin a CVR 15 just as a temporary install since they are so cheap but I think I will go straight to the RLP 15. Probably put it in 2.5 cubes sealed. And put either a zx750.1 or a zx1000.1. Im kinda leanin towards the 1000.1 though since its only like 70 bucks more and u get a decent amount of power. Usually the 1000 watt mark is where the single sub setups start hittin hard (for the ones that can handle it at least). Man I cant wait to get my RLP...
