Upgrade electrical system in steps or all at once?

So is it nessacary to upgrade your battery, amp, and do the big 3 all at once to see any change, or can you do them individually to see which brings the change? Or do they all work together? A cap is a waste of money, right?

just do the big 3 first... I'm doing 1000w RMS of class a/b power on an 80 amp alt with no dimming with the big 3...

depends on the ammount of strain you will be putting on your cars electrical system. If you are running 3k RMS in a honda civic...doing only BIG 3 would be about as productive as pissing in the wind. Sometimes you have to **** it up and do it all at once.

Well I am running a 1000/1 in a Lexus GS300. The dimming can get intense, depending on how hard the bass is hitting and how fast the car is going. I am guessing the faster the car goes the faster the alt moves the faster the batt recharges, am I correct on that? I'm running 4 guage wire and really do not want to upgrade to 0 but I will take that into consideration. I plan on doing the big 3 this summer, I just don't have enough time to do it with school going on. I believe the stock amp puts out 90 amps, if that matters

just some input on dimming, i know this guy with a pontiac grand prix gt, 2002, he wrecked it, one light is busted, and the other shines up kindof high, not even on the road. he has 2 l712's on a 1250.1, and no elec upgrades. when its dark, and it hits, its like the lights shut off. its bad enough w/ no bass.

Proper Electrical upgrade steps...

1. Big3

2. Replace stock battery with deep cycle

3. Alternator

4. Add a second deep cycle in parallel

i still don't see the benifits of a deep cycle under the hood if you get a strong enough alt and big 3, unless you run the system for long periods of time with the engine off

thats what I was thinking.. but i guess the only sure way to have absolutely no dimming and a stable electricity system is having two batts and the works

At idle, under high current draws... even with a HO Alternator... it's good to have a deep cycle. Deep cycles are made to take the hits...

Also, notice I note the deep cycle first... sometimes the Big3 and a deep cycle under the hood can solve minor problems... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
