go to a sign supply shop and get a product called rapid remover

Buy some adhesive remover, hell, even Goo Gone should remove the residue.

Then get adhesive remover. We had like tar all over our Trailblazer or something like tar and the adhesive remover took it off no problem. Basically adhesive remove is weaker paint thinner.

try wiping gasoline on a rag and wiping on it, or try acetone, you can get it at the hardware store and it comes in a metal can because it would eat through a plastic container
