unit doesn't play unitl car gets warm

I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT with the correct wiring harness, and chime harness. I could NOT get the steering wheel control to work. (installed in an 06 Chevy SSR)

Anyway, the first trip I noticed that the unit would not output sound until the vehicle got physically warm inside. The unit comes on, and and the display lights, and indicates volume, channel, what's playing, etc.

I'm out with the vehicle for a week, and every morning same thing. I can hear the relay closing (a power relay as part of the harness - I hear what sounds like a "pop" in the rear speaker, and no sound.

The sun beats on the vehicle, and after an hour or so, I turn on the unit, and everything plays normally.

Any suggestions??

TIA,

>>>Rod

with these types of problems i would recommend going to a car/audio specialist near you. There are too many variables to discuss online. I got my stereo re-wired and replace for around $50 at a top dollar audio specialist near me. could be worth your time and money.

and posted the same quote in another thread. LOL. OP is asking questions here so he doest have to go to a shop. LOL

sounds like faulty finals in the internal amp. i have a brand new kenwood that either takes 20 minutes to "warm" up or immediatly goes into protect. not a wiring issue in that case. its a faulty unit i bought off ebay from a terrible seller.

Ya that was my 2nd thought, a faulty unit. Luckily if he just installed it it should still be under warranty

Your information is fawking useless to anyone. Please refrain from posting until you have more knowledge. At least until you learn how to rewire your own stereo.

Please and thank you.

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
