I didn't want to resort to yet another, "which amp" thread, but I'm feeling defeated and need help. I just got 2 IDQ 10"s dual 4 ohms and realized they can't be wired to my 2ohm amp. There are a lot of opinions on mono vs 2channel bridged and I need some suggestions. Image Dynamics recommends 50-300 watts rms for these subs. I found a good deal on a phoenix gold 600.1 online ($250 shipped, NIB) that will give me the 600 watts at 4ohms that I ideally want. What I need to know is if I should consider any other options. What are some reliable 2 channel amps that I get get enough power out of bridged, and if so what are the advantages of going this route. I have never had a two sub set up before so this is all new to me. I was under the impression that one of the big advantages to going with a 2 channel is cost, but for $250 is there any 2 channels that should keep me from buying the 600.1? Thanks in advance for any input.
