Underpower the next series up?

Just waiting on Friday to pick something up from soundqubed. Now I am thinking, ****, should I just get a hds315 and under power it (trying to stay under 1k watts, probably more like 6-750) instead of a hds215. Then do more power and electrical upgraded later. Opinions?

Debating the same thing. Definitely getting 2 hds208 for one vehicle and deciding about the other.

I'd always go for the higher model woofer. You get a lot more than just "power handling" for your money, particularly in the entry level and mid tiers for most stuff.

Under powering imo means it wont be as loud. Its the higher series so it takes more power to really get moving. But if were talking about 200 watts then thats fine

I'd add more power to what you have now (assuming they can take it), and then get bigger or different subwoofers

HDS3 should be fine on that power, just won't be pushed to it's limit which might be a good thing.

I've run an HDC4 on a 500watt amp and a 5kw amp.......even on low power it was fine for daily beating....
