Undercover Cops

it is not considered entrapment if you think about it cause if it had been another person not a cop you two probably would have went a couple of miles racing, and if a cop had clocked you then you would be screwed bad. what they are trying to do is stop people from excepting challenges like that. so if you think about it you got off lucky and any of you want to race they made drag strips for that and if you dont want to wait or you cant afford to go then dont race or get permission from a local farmer alot of them will let you if you show them you have common since and not going to mess up his crops. remember theres a time and place

kansas has unmarked vettes and camaros seen them last year when i went to colorado i had my chipped out dodge ported and polished and bored out and they tried the same thing to me but at that time gas was near the 4.00 mark and i wasnt going to waste the gas so he went on and got someone up the road.

ENTRAPMENT

- A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids conviction in such a case.

got that from dictionary.com...... what happened sounds like entrapment to me. sounds to me like if he would of revved at the cop then it wouldnt of been entrapment. but the cop persuaded him to commit a crime numerous times before he took of.

to the person who said he was retarded being in a camaro and racing a vette. when i owned my ***** am a camaro SS rolled up next to me on the highway and tried to get me to race. being 19 and we were alone late at night on the road i took the bait just for fun, i knew i didnt have a chance. we were neck and neck until we hit 90mph, then he took off like a ****in jet..... i guarantee that camaro would of beaten almost any corvette on the road right now.

If it wasnt a cop, and just a civilian doing that, im sure the OP would have done the same thing. Which means, he cant use entrapment as a defense, and the cop would argue that too.

What do you mean by 'tag'? All I've ever done is look at liscence plates. All Government plates have a small letter 'x' in the middle of the number. Just like dealership plates have a 'D'; and cars owned by the car companies themselves have an 'M'.
In ga, the government liscence plates have govt down the side of them.

Yeah, a friend of mine was driving her 75 Vette Stingray (drool) across the Buckman bridge in Jacksonville (3.5 mi long). At the end of the bridge, the right lane turns into an exit only, so she starts trying to get over so she doesn't have to exit. Well, every time she would speed up or slow down to get over, the car next to her would stay next to her, blocking her. So, since she was in a badass Corvette with a 454, she put the hammer down... and the car next to her flipped its lights on and pulled her over for doing 90 in a 65.
Ain't right.
I find it hard to believe the cop would continue to slow down to a point where they were both going much slower than traffic. Even so, at that point I'd make it clear to the other driver what my intentions were.

How's it entrapment? He didn't force the guy to race with him.

I ignored it, and then he slows dows and I catch up with him. This he started revving his engine again, so I said screw it. I took off, and so did he. I got ahead of him doing about 110 and he flips the lights on and pulls me over.
He did this to himself. He committed the crime, the cop was just doing his job by pulling over the speeder.

driving 110 on public roads is retarded.... you should of been arrested and put in jail for street racing in public... next time you do it think about a tire blowing and your car flipping into the air 30 feet into on comming traffic then killing a little 3 year old kid... you douche bag
Understand some cars won't collapse going over 60mph. I've seen PLENTY of places in America where driving that speed is not a danger.

it wasn't entrapment... Hell im glad they do it.. you did it then its not the first or last time you would do it.. You obviously knew what the revving meant and wanted to street race your license shoulda been suspended for 1-2yrs minimally and a big *** fine...
