Undercover Cops

and you realize i know the smell of weed, my car doesnt smell like it.... it smells like an old peice of shit dodge neon.... cuz it is
You know when you go to someone's house, and it smells like foot and ***?

You know the people living there don't smell it, or they'd do something about it... and God knows they know the smell of foot and *** (everyone does.)

You got used to the smell, but it probably smells like old stale bud.

The best way to know if a car is an unmarked cop (around here anyway) is to look at the tag. A cop car's tag is a goverment tag which, in GA, looks different than a normal tag...

So I got pulled yesterday on I-69
I was minding my own business, cruising along in my dad's camaro.

Then this unmarked black corvette with badass black rims (20's), and dark tint pulls up next to me, and rides along side of me for about 3-4 miles. Then he starts revving his engine, and takes off. I ignored it, and then he slows dows and I catch up with him. This he started revving his engine again, so I said screw it. I took off, and so did he. I got ahead of him doing about 110 and he flips the lights on and pulls me over. He asked me what I was doing driving that fast, and I said "well sir, you tried to race me" and he said "well....." and left it at that. Then he let me go with a verbal warning.

Isn't it illegial for police to do this?
No idea, but I'm glad you posted this that way I know to look out for a black Corvette with aftermarket rims as I drive I-69, in the same general area as you, twice per day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif What year 'Vette was it?

Either way, he let you go so what does it matter?

What do you mean by 'tag'? All I've ever done is look at liscence plates. All Government plates have a small letter 'x' in the middle of the number. Just like dealership plates have a 'D'; and cars owned by the car companies themselves have an 'M'.

its against the law for a cop to provoke you to race. its called entrapment (i believe). this same situation happened here to me and my brother. we were driving my brothers wrx when this black cobra comes next to us goes hella fast then slows down till we caught up again. he did this about three times then my brother just opened up and as soon as he got above 100 the cobra flips his lights and gave my brother a ticket.. my brother requested a hearing and won the case. cop got in trouble

He probably figured, correctly, that you were gullible enough to go for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Illegal or not, what's stopping you from simply letting him go?

i had a cop do that to me when i was on i 64 on an old shifter kart i had. I got pulled over but he thought the kart was neat and let me off free since he was off duty. Was a margay racing kart with a hopped up yz250 engine, did about 85-90 mph and i rode it WTFO constantly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Btw...what you said about them attempting to race you, thats called entrapment, and its illegal. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Wrong. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That's not entrapment. Someone revving their engne did not force you to race.
This.

Wrong! Unmarked/Undercover Police Cars have regular tags on them.

So you were a dumbass for getting baited. That's been established.
Usually I think all cops tactics are legit and its all on the person they catch. This one kind of irks me though. I can understand undercover for ************ and drugs and whatnot since the person they are catching intended to do a crime. OTOH in this case as long as you were following the rules of the road the cop was simply antaginizing (sp) you to commit a crime which seems slightly unethical. Whats worse is it sounds like the cops tactics were putting others in danger to catch someone who at that point was following the laws. Seems a little shady to me.
x2

usually? man you havnt run into the fuzz much your self have you? iv had my car searched with out my consent becuase he had "probable cuase" he said the car smelled like weed, I DONT SMOKE WEED! I QUITE SMOKING 2 YEARS AGO! MY CAR CANT SMELL LIKE HERBS ITS NOT POSSIBLE
I had the same thing happen to me @7-8 years ago. Got pulled over for going 49 in a 45! First the cop asked me if I was sure it was my car, then he said my car (2 day old new car) smelled like marijuana and so did I. He called a supervisor to be on site and searched my car...found nothing. The supervisor asked me why the (rookie) cop was searching my car so I told him he had claimed it smelled of marijuana. The supervisor walked over to my car, scolded the rookie, apologized, then left..

too bad you didnt crash or something in this race and get hurt! prolly coulda got one hell of a lawsuit outta it! lol
