Usually I think all cops tactics are legit and its all on the person they catch. This one kind of irks me though. I can understand undercover for ************ and drugs and whatnot since the person they are catching intended to do a crime. OTOH in this case as long as you were following the rules of the road the cop was simply antaginizing (sp) you to commit a crime which seems slightly unethical. Whats worse is it sounds like the cops tactics were putting others in danger to catch someone who at that point was following the laws. Seems a little shady to me.

I admit the OP is an idiot, and should have something called self-restraint... but going further, the cop shouldn't have done that. Their job is to enforce the law, and also embody it to the best of their ability. Egging on someone to race is not ethical.

theres the legal term. but yeah, the whole take on it was no matter if its a cop or not, they are trying to catch the would-be street racers. stupid but it got passed.

Pretty much. I am not an idiot and I don't break the law.
OTOH my car did get searched because they thought I was stealing it. This was after they established it was my car. So yeah, I got searched for stealing my own car.

i did have a gold Accord (early 2000ish model) get in the lane next to me coming home from school a few weeks ago, didnt think anything of it. yup it was an undercover. he flickered his lights at me and looked over and grinned. i turned teh bass off and he left me alone:wave:
