If i have a set of good speakers with about a 150w rms rating, but my amp is only giving it about 50w rms, do you think that would hurt the speakers?(component type)

Would i be better off trying something with a lower rms?

I don't want to change the amp at this point, its kind of a lil experiment for me. Just wanted to check with the experts if what I am doing is completely stupid!

Won't hurt the speakers, just set gains correctly so that the amp is not clipping. You cannot damage anything by running it within it's limits on a clean signal, it's that simple. Don't listen to any idiots who tell you under powering will blow your speakers/subs, they are wrong.

Also, searchbar?

Yeah sorry didn't really think of using the search bar lol.

I don't think the amp has gains? Its a stock amp, said to be 650w max.

Do you know of any way I would be able to adjust it?

if it isn't clipping and it sounds good, leave it be. If you can't adjust it leave it, or upgrade to something better, I'm sure in the long run you'll end up doing that anyway.

Everyone upgrades in the end.... Need MOAR PWR!!! And a 2 or 4 channel amp is pretty cheap. Check out the classifieds if you're looking to upgrade.

Is it safe to buy stuff online here? Like what you buy the product actually works?
