Unconstitutional

I can't believe I'm actually going to put my 2 cents in on this. Democratic socialist? That's an oxymoron right there. Just about all parties are so skewed, its hard to say what anyone is anymore. The Republicans act like Democrats by definition and the Liberals act like Nazis so I avoid all parties. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Do you know what the Federal Reserve is? Do you know what its for? Its a private company, not federal. It manufactures the money and loans it at interest to the banking institutions. Long story short, your money isn't worth the paper its printed on. The only reason it has value is because we accept it as legal tender. Its not backed by gold or any other valuable asset, like it was. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif There is a reason a lot of trading happens on this forum, craigslist, etc.
Yes I know what the federal reserve i, I even know Woodrow Wilson set it up and it set up the very first bubble burst crash called the Great Depression. It is very clear you do not know what a democratic socialist is as they are very real and ARE a group that about 60-70 democrats sitting in congress are actually a part of. DSA= Democratic Socialists of America look it up, on a side note do you know what the commies in Eastern Europe and Russia changed their name too in the late 80's? Democratic Socialists

BTW a few of you here could stand for some good reading (proxxy) http://www.amazon.com/Basic-Economics-4th-Ed-Economy/dp/0465022529

This one part I do want to address...

I don't know how I can make it more clear. Hire 500 people, it makes it in the news because you are a "major employer". See: Intel, ShinEtsu, etc.

Fire 800 people by the next year. It happens all the time.

My point is simple, yes automation in the short term takes away more jobs than it creates, but in the long term its beneficial to society due to lower costing products (and not just 'cheap junk' you say people fill their houses with).
Ok, lower costs benefit who? The person who's buying, right? It doesn't benefit anyone but that person. Cheap junk would be anything that is inferior quality, with a low price, that doesn't last a long time. That would be 99% of consumer products these days. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif See: Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, etc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What is so different now than in the 80's 90's and early 2000's? You keep building the same crap nothing really new or different we end up finding ways to produce it cheaper and cheaper. The question is not making the same things for "more money" it is make new never before made items that are totally different here before they get whored out.

Hah, not exactly. You would be surprised what has taken down a whole plant for hours/days at a time. My old job mostly involved going into clean rooms when the computers couldn't be remotely controlled and repairing them in field. Other times I needed to bring them back to the 'lab' for repair. The other 75% of my job involved gathering information and studying. I didn't spend my free time watching sports or doing other crap most people enjoy. That's part of the reason I'm on this forum, research and development.
Riddle me this.... What type of TV do you own? LCD/LED screen maybe? How old is the computer you own? How old are the other main electronics in your house? Chances are the companies I worked for manufactured the IC's in those devices. They are designed to fail. The standard test is 100,000 hours. Will they ever last that long? Very, very, rarely. That's what they're designed for right? I mean, you designed it yourself, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If not, you weren't in the same field as I was in.

Now I repair those same machines (computers, monitors) and mostly work on software issues these days. They all **** below the $1,000 level. You still get what you pay for. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif How's that automation working out for you?
That's a whole lotta talk that, to me, says "I know a shit ton about the computer field, but otherwise, I know jack". If this topic was solely about the computer chip field, id defer to your experience. but the world revolves around more than just how long the modern television or computer monitor is built to last.

Both of you fuckwits need to find a new thread and focus solely on this industry of yours. Stop trying to correlate it to health care. You're both looking like a couple of retards licking schoolbus windows.
You're right. This conversation went from health insurance, to the economy to automation to "the man". I'm not sure where we're at now. I'm going to get out soon, just tired of the shifty behavior by people that get backed into a corner.

Everyone is "that person." Everyone buys consumer goods that are made on assembly lines, by machines, etc. How about all of the stores that benefit from having a lower priced product on the shelf? Do you think they'd be selling a lot of $200 toasters $20k tvs that are made by hand? Thanks for clarifying that automation benefits everyone.
I admit that they're made on assembly lines, by machine. That doesn't mean FULLY automated factories. I'm talking where the only people that really do anything are people who place parts and remove parts from the line. Even the shipping departments of Amazon are automated now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Most TV's didn't cost $1500 in the 80's or 90's either. Most of those TVs came from assembly lines with a lot more workers than we have today. Like I said before, if the TV made after 2000 doesn't last even 5 years.....What money have you really saved? I run a retail store and service center, by the way. Low priced junk only helps the cheap skates. The quality customers are still looking for good quality parts/accessories. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The best health systems in the world are dual setups. They are a mixture of gov't funded and private. Yes, your taxes go up, but you are guaranteed service at the gov't hospitals. For more detailed surgeries, you can opt to go to the private surgeons if you can afford to do so. You can purchase additional insurance to cover the costs.

Audiolife, I agree with you. No need to argue. I was just testing your knowledge of the Federal Reserve and our banking system. You're right in your definition of the DSA. I just tend to stay out of any communist or socialist movement propaganda. I agree with your point though.

You 'run' a retail store and you dont know what inflation is? And Americans wonder why our economy is in the shitter.

BTW, you are in the IT field, not the industrial/manufacturing field. Ive worked with enough IT guys that thought they knew as much as the engineers/machinist/assemblers to know you pretty well already. I still remember the IT guy that 'informed' me that a square hole would work better than my design feature.

Learn your place in the food chain. It will make you better at what you do: keeping the LAN working correctly so the real meat 'n potatoes workers can do their job.

What is inflated and what is deflated? The joke on us all is the things that are being inflated no longer count in inflation statistics. Food, power, and gas are no longer counted but you can buy some clothes and electronics cheaper now than you could back in the 90's.

Then they aren't the best health systems in the world, ya nitwit. Everything you just described is already available in the US. You're saying we have the best system in the world?

Nope, you are about 37th on the list of best healthcare systems in the world. France ranks #1, Italy #2. Canada falls in at #30. The top systems are dual, and Canada is all gov't (aka tax) funded.

The republicons who lean towards the regressive side are the "me too" candidates because they fall in line with the hype and not their heads and very well could be getting kickbacks.
