umm..water in trunk after deadening lid?

yeh thats what i was thinking...also the big piece of stripping in the back of that pic looks like its coming off. the part on the car not the lid
looks it, but its not ive already checked that out, its on there pretty firmly...

if i cant solve it ill prolly just buy some weather stripping and put it on the trunk lid so it can add ontop of the weather stripping on the car (if that would work:confused:)

heres where water was originally going:

ok so heres the driver side of the trunk.. the water is not coming from the gasket that you can see, not sure from where:

now the passenger side, there is A LOT of water on this side:

now as for the lid, there is no deadener interfering with the weather stripping:

and on the left (where the scratch is) is the trunk lid, black = weather stripping then foil = bottom of rear deck:

so not only is water dripping in from the trunk lid, in the sides as well

trying to figure out where the water is coming from now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

All that rust suggests that this has been going on for a while. Looks lie some may be coming in through the vents? I'd still suspect the weather strip as at least one culprit. If it isn't smooth and soft it should probably be replaced.

With all that rust he needs to do full coverage with the Second Skin Damplifier Pro, to structurally reinforce it nub.

i got damplifier, not pro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

will that be fine? im also putting sheet metal over the whole and sealing it with either caulk or silicon.. and going over it with my deadener.

That was a joke. You have to get rid of the rust - first the water, then the rust //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh God....

Yes you have to get rid of the water and rust. First the water obviously, then you need to try to eliminate as much rust as possible, try sanding it off, but if its too late then you'll need to weld more steel back on, but you can weld to rust, so this is an issue if you dont have enough uninfected metal to weld to.
