well a few days ago i did part 1 of deadening my trunk, which was the trunk lid first as thats akll i had time for.. and today my car was dirty as a mofo so i went though delta sonic car wash (automated car wash) and i opened my trunk, because i got some strange feeling something was wrong, weird i know.. and i noticed my trunk was SOAKED.. so i look up at the lid and i see water on the bottom of the trunk lid, all over the inner panel on the trunk, the wheel well and underneath the rear deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .. this never happened before i installed the secondskin damplifier on my trunk lid, so i know thats what caused the problem.

heres a pic of my trunk lid after i deadened it:

where could i have placed the secondskin to cause this problem? the weather stripping is compltely fine not torn or ripped anywhere.. ideas?

How close to the trunk gasket/seal are you? As a rule of thumb, I would recommend staying 1 to 2 inches away from that gasket when deadening. It looks like you are right on it from the photo, but, I could totally be wrong.

Remove any brackets? Bolts missing...?
Id say you didnt put something back on right, or left a bolt hole open or something
everything is fine.. only 4 bolts holding the lid on all tight and firm but i love your ava....

ill try taking off some of the deadener around the outside

That's almost certainly the problem - gasket isn't sealing against a smooth surface anymore.

ok guys i took about 1-2 inches of deadener off from the bottom, everywhere else is fine.. you people are right about how the weather stripping was touching the secondskin, not directly to the trunk lid.. ill have a pic up later of how much i took off.. also took some off in the 2 bottom corners and rounded it out more.. it looks a lot better now also so hopefully it works.. ill know for sure tomorrow when i go back for my free wash.. (buy one you get free wash within 24hrs)

Well I went back and it was filled again I looked as I was closing the trunk and the wearer stripping doesn't touch the deadener anymore so idk what it is
