Ultimate SQL Build!!

lol I plan on moving to Ohio after I get my settlement money. So maybe when I do that we could meet up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I still need to pick up batts, wiring, deadener, and get my head unit fixed.
Its possible. I have some fam up that way anyway. I probably wont be in the tC when I visit them though. I was thinking about getting some full range fostex speakers for midrange and crossing them high then add a tweeter up high to keep my stage up. But typically I like lower crossover points to help my imaging. But maybe you'd know more about that than me since you run an active HU.

you need to define your definition of SQL and how loud you want the bass to be. Then you can decide on mids/highs to keep up with it and how many subs/how much power it'll take to get there.

I'm quite impressed with the Selenium mids in my set up, hard to beat for the $$$ when you want to get very loud, but can also sound good at lower volumes...

As far as loudness, ATLEAST Breaking 150 at or below 32hz / on music.

Then mids and highs to keep up and still be crystal clear

Fi qs get loud and where the best sounding subs I've heard but I haven't heard many non mainstream subs. But my 2 twelves would shut down everybody else's in the area, 15s included.
I had a Q 18 before, pretty Decent sub but I wont be buying another Fi sub didn't like their customer service for the main reason.

2 18's will do a 50+ on music, but if this is a demo vehicle I'd go with more subs. 4 18's in the right set up with enough power should let you reach that goal.

Then fill the doors with enough PA mids to keep up.

Q's can be kind of bottom heavy, but are solid subs.

You need to get out more, there's a single 10" set up in your area that will crush your 12's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

I would go with 8 LMS-R 12's or 6 15's if you have the space for them. Cone area should make up for their lower power handling.
EDIT:I also think you can get a discount for ordering multiple drivers off of Parts Express.
That sounds like a plan..hmmm

Never really cared for the SQ in pa mids. But I may do the 4 18s

Bro I agree with orangecavi. Listen to how loud one of the Hertz Hsk 165 XL sets gets on just 90x2 RMS. They take 150 a side.

I dont doubt their loudness or anything. Depends on how my budget looks in the mids n highs phase. My only issue with putting too much emphasis on top notch sq in the doors is that at really high volumes like demos, most people wont be listening for depth and imaging and what not like in a true SQ build. My main thing is to have a really strong sub stage for demos ofcourse but also have enough clarity that people realize its not just another loud setup that sounds like crap and something I could enjoy daily at moderate volume if I chose to drive it.
