hhhmmm, not sure where you get people call you unamerican. I agree with you in many things. C6 and mustang is the only cars you would consider?? I think the new caddy's haul *** and look hot. I also like the new Ford Fusion. The gap is closing for sure. One thing I cant stand is the ******* dealerhips who are liars and thiefs. I also dont like UAW. its got to go and might not last to long, who knows. In a year or so i will be buying a new car and def will be american. But cmon, jsut becuase you dont like SUV's doesnt mean everyone shouldnt drive one. I cant stand when people call American cars gas guzzlers and not enviormentally friendly, its BS. I dont look at it that way. I look at the companies who throw toxins in our rivers. I look at companies who dump hazordous materials in our lands. I dont give a shit about 8mpg truck. GE dumped PCB's in teh Hudson river for YEARS. Now you cant even go fishing in that river, isnt that sad?? Thats the BIG stuff, not a hummer.

Oh, I agree- coroprate evironmental pollution is horrific, but the #1 source of pollution is auto emissions- because there are way more cars running around than polluting factories. Industry does not get a pass from me by any means, and I am in no way one of the idiot tree-hugging environmentalists that seem to spawn like a virus in the pac NW. I know auto manufacturers build for the market. I know currently the market is cars and trucks- heck even Honda has 3 SUV's and a truck (though the CRV and Element are more tall cars than SUV's) and I have watched thier fuel economy remain static as the size of cars has increased- this is not progress to me either. I think the problem is the prevailing attitude of americans that don't give a crap about fuel economy but then bich about having to send troops to foreign lands to secure the oil our society requires.

Knucklehead- this thread started as a quality of amps has gone down, until you made an idiotic blast about how Honda has ruined the economy, and then it turned into what it has, you maintaining your myopic views despite credible evidence to the contrary. Nobody is saying you are wrong to have the views you do, I am just saying the views and opinions you do have are shortsighted and inaccurate. Laugh all you want, I am proud of my knowledge of auto repairs and my ability to keep cars on the road. The job doesn't carry any glory or pay huge money, but I do okay and get to feel good about maintaining peoples second most valuable posessions- thier cars- something they depend on nearly every day. First of all I don't wear Nikes. Not just because where they're made but because they're over priced and the new stuff is well.........ugly. With clothing now a days its much harder to find American made stuff. With a car you DO have a choice and GM, Ford and Chrysler are right there for me to choose from and thats who I'm going to buy from....end of that story. I'm saying when you have a choice between American made stuff and NON American made stuff then you should choose American made. Thats MY opinion and feelings and beliefs. An ASE certification doesn't garuntee quality but it does show knowledge of the different systems. I know what you are saying- I have seen a ton of people in my line of work that are straight up hacks that I wouldn't let touch my car either and unfortunately I get lumped in with "mechanics" when the reason I enjoy my job is driveability stuff and electronics (though multiplexing is a pain in the ***) It's all good- we disagree, and I can live with that, that's why this country kicks ***- we can have differing opinions.

This statement is how I know you aren't very smart. You obviously don't read the paper or watch the news. Every day you hear about a corp outsourcing a plant overseas. Or a plant is just closing their doors becasue they just cant stay in business. Those aren't signs of a thriving economy my friend. Those are signs of bad times and more to come. Our rate of unemployment increases every year. What rock did you say you live under again.???

If jobs were here then consumers would have more money to pay a little bit higher price for goods to compensate for the higher wages paid to American workers. The main reason for outsourcing ( regardless of what corporations want to tell you) is to keep the profit margin in the company at the top and NOT pay a liveable wage to workers. Are you an American worker?? Seriously man.........you're wayyyyy off on this one.
