Ok i have the Alpine MRD-M1005 amp but i'm currently running a type r 15 (older one 500wrms). I am getting the type-x 12 in a sealed box.

What size sealed box would work best? I searched no answer. Alpine says between .75-2cf. Would 1.2 cf work well???

Definitely not porting it. I want pure SQ. I know with 1000 wrms going to it that it will be plenty loud enough.

Alpine recommends a .90 cubic foot (gross) sealed box as the optimum sealed enclosure. After taking into account the driver's displacement it works out to .71 cubic feet net. I currently have mine in a 1.07 cubic foot box, gross volume.

I think a 1.2 cubic foot enclosure would work nicely.

Believe it or not, ported tuned low still isnt' nearly as accurate as a proper sealed enclosure. Not everyone likes bloated subbass

Got it sealed in a 1.12cf box. 1000watts rms running to it. Sounds great. SQ blows anything away ive had in the past. Id also say its very close to as loud as my old type-r 12's i had. Definitely much louder and cleaner than the type-r 15. Actually its not even in the same zip code.
