Type x good bang for the buck?

Im looking for ~1k rms sub that has good quality but i need something that can pound my chest real hard. I have 2 12" cvr's in 1.2 sealed with ~425rms (2x mtx 421D) going to them and that didnt hit the spl i wanted nor the SQ. I was considering a type x 12" in a 2.5 ported box. Is that a good choice for ~$200 or is there a better sub out there for my needs?

Why dont you just try porting your cvrs first. Theyre not bad drivers at all, imo.

Youll probably notice a night and day difference.

from what i understand, type x is more a SQ sub, not spl, so i may no go that route for what you are trying to achieve

1. They are more tailored for smaller sealed enclosures. Pure and hard SQ.

2. That's a good price on a 12" X.

the only problem is that my CVR's need a big *** box to sound good... Im in a 2006 civic coupe. Not that i have a problem filling my trunk with a box, its just when i measured i think the biggest i can get them is ~1.5 cube each sub...

Ive been trying to get my question answered for some time now. What will the CVR's put out in terms of SLP with 1k watts each in a 1.5 cube box... will it bang my chest real hard or will it just shake the **** out of my car? I have no real concept of what SPL actually feels like. if i can get chest pains from cvr's im cool

i can say i love my 10" type x. ive got it in my extended cab truck and it pounds more than enough for it. im running at 1000w with a hifornics brutus. it rumbles my back and will shake a bottle around on my roof. so id recomend it personaly.

If you have a Type-X make sure you have lots of power and a sealed box, and remember your cutting your cone area in half, so they might not be quite as loud.

I like fi all of it i think its worth a look price wise very resonable

and ifist amps you ned SUNDOWN all the way dude they rock so do do steg but they arent suited to your aplication at all well not the cheaper ones the competition nes start at 3500 and go up to abot 8000 for the top 3000w and then about the same for the class a so sundown powerful well priced and excellent quality put it up against my stegs anyday of the week
