Type R's with....

I am considering buying a pair of Alpine Type R 12's. Would this amp power them well enough if i got 4 ohm dvc and wired them to 1 ohm?

I read somewhere else that it is 1ohm stable, is that true. Is there any difference in sounds quality or anything like that when you wire the subs to a different ohm? Thanks

i think they would like a bit more power than that. maybe around 700-750 each plus i just noticed that that amp is only 2 ohm mono stable. you need a one ohm mono stable for that.

I ran my Type-R 12s on a Directed 1200.1 and they loved it. Headroom is not a bad thing with Type-Rs

he'd still only be giving them less then 450 each.....from what everyone else is saying the type r's are power hungry

The amp is 1-ohm stable, i dont know why that one didnt say it was. What does this mean...RMS 900 watts (1 Ohm, 100Hz, 1% THD at 14.4V). Does this mean that the amp can only put out sound at 100hz?

yes you will only hear the 100Hz notes

jp no that i believe it the cutoff, or were the amp puts out the most power, amps dont give a constant power, its an AC current so the amount of power actually changes
