Type R's-----4 12"'s or 2 15"s

two 15's... for a few reasons...

I have owned a 15" Type R and IMO, it gets a bit deeper in a big box than the 12...

also... you will be throwing a little extra power to the 15's, which I found to be good for the 15" R.

on a side note, The 12's wouldn't take as much abuse...

2 15's is probably cheaper too

they are actually the same price for 4 12"s or 2 15"s

the only thing about the 15"s is that the install options might not be as versatile as the 12"s due to the trunk layout.

Appreciate any opinions tho.

I'd go with 2 15s if your giving them that much power. I wasn't really impressed with my 12"s with 700 RMS a piece. Now, if you had 4 12s getting 1000-1200 a piece, that would be nasty loud.

one 15 of a superior woofer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
but that is just me.
I only have these brands to pick from: JL, Alpine, Memphis, and Fosgate.

Originally was going with JL W7's but decided i can get Alpine for much less.

i'd do the 15s. that will be loud and sound good too. i had 4 12s Rs, it was nasty, nuthin like my L7s though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but i have yet to top my spl that i did wit the Rs 154@44hz. but my driveby score has gone up 4dbs though wit the L7s, which really matters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have only heard one 15" Type R setup.. Have heard several dual 12" set ups.. The one 15" setup I heard was fairly decent... Especially since it looked to be in a crap box.. Dude had no idea about tuning or anything.. It was fairly loud to just be off of 800 watts... Wasn't as loud as my L7 but it was still reasonable.. THe dual 12" set ups I have heard have all sounded alright.. But the low end on that 15 was rather nice..

GO with the 15s..

pair of 15's.

but my pair of 12's get pretty loud off of 500watts(ea) for daily, loud enough to where i have to turn it down cause i cant take it anymore.

Any chance of you getting a type X. Nice woofer, I'd much take a X over an R for daily driving, and I've heard lots of both installed. Low end is pretty killer, tended to sound a bit nicer too. I'd say they are MUCH closer to the W7 type of sound that you are looking for. 1000 watts will suite them just fine too.
