Type R vs. Shiva

Ok guys, I went to my local speaker shop and heard some Type Rs. They sounded pretty good. How does that compare to a Shiva? I got 1400 watts at 4 ohms.....should I do 3 or 4 Type Rs or 3 or 4 Shivas? Any suggestions? Thanks!

The Shivas are good subs the only thing that i personally dont like about them is that they are not fitted for small encloures... on the other hand the type R's are designed for small enclosures. Also ... If you are judging what sub to buy on a performance basis... then id have to say its a 50/50 shot... both subs sound great...

For me personally i would take the Type R's over the Shivas though... they sound good, look killer, dont take up a whole lot of room, and are just as cheap...

id go shivas if you want it louder, even though the type r can handle practically every type of wattage, they cost the same 125 each so its really your desicion only, i would take the shivas because ive heard them more and my friends have them. i heard the type r for maybe 10 secs before i left the shop but it wasnt that bad from what i remember
