dont mind my cheap box lol.. mdf was like $30 a sheet now here... so i built this to test out and see how everything sounds, then i will build the mdf box.. lets just say, i had to hella brace this box or it was gonna fall apart lol

it sounds pretty good and gets low, but still has some kick to it... it starts to hurt your ears after awhile, but people who hardly listen to bass, it hurts them.. i gotta mess with the settings on the amp a lil, i dont know what to set them all at

it might be the settings on the amp or something.. they seem to sound funny on certain songs, almost like there not in a box.. hard to explain

i do think the box is a lil big..

mine were way louder to the ear in 5.5 cubes at 32 than in 4.5 at 32

plus you need a viper 1200.1 on each one. I'm guessing theyre getting 600 rms a piece....give them 1k plus and theyll open up big time.

I heard a 2 type r's ported a couple nights ago and it sounded like crap. Did not like the sound of them at all.

i haven't had a system for awhile or built a box for like over a year, so yea lol... i did some quick research on here and people said 5cubes for 2, so thats what i did... you sure they can take another 1200?

well i've personally built 4.5 @ 29, 4.5 @ 32, 5.5 @ 32, and 5.9 @ 39.

5.5 @ 32 was loudest....i was gonna lengthen the ports on the 5.9 and make it 32 because i think it would have been even louder.

Don't be scared to go big...I'd recommend 5.5-6 cubes for 2 if you want pure ground pounding lows and to rattle your jaws loose. it still sounded good as well.

I had my 2 on a Hifonics Hercules....the same amp was benched at 2400 watts at 1 ohm. After rise, etc I'm guessing they were getting around 2200ish total, 1100 a piece. I never had problems with them and I wanged them pretty hard. If you're gonna put that much power on them, you HAVE to be smart and set the gains right. If you don't know what you're doing, just keep 1200 watts on them.

just curious as to why you thought that....i've had mine in all sorts of sizes and tunings and they all sounded pretty good. If you like the peaky type bass...which you might having a sealed enclosure, they're not for you but I was really happy with mine SQ wise....and I have heard L5s sealed before and they're nothing to brag about.
