Hey i have a dual 4 ohm type R 12 new model, i have had it in a 1 ft sealed, 2 ft sealed, 2.2 ported at with a 2.75x11 port so about 30 in squared port tuning about 32 hz, and a 2.7 with about 60 in squared port tuning about 40 hz, the first ported was by far the best it handles about 850 watts from my kenwood 1000wRMS but the two sealed boxes dont produce near the sound, i have had the two ported boxes in a caddilac deville, mistu eclipse, chevy lumina, and my girlfriendsdodge neon, the caddilac with the 2.2 at 32 was decent , and the mitsu being a hatch and the neon with the seats down was pretty loud probably about 140 db with no cap just amp and sub thrown in the trunk. having the 60 in port are and high tuning seemed to KILL the power handling, it sounded like ish with the volume up, so keep the port area at about 30, maybe a bigger box than 2.2 if you have room, about 2.5 and keep the tuning low, it will really really hit those lows if you adjust your eq to peak low. hope this helps, as i have tried to put my type R in as many vehicles as possible. i know i dont use many periods and that was one big sentance. but i **** at writing to understand.
