Type R or Obsidian?

I'm going to be buying 2 12s to put on a Audiopipe APSM-1500 amp, and I'm wondering what to get. Together they'll be taking 1500w RMS at 1 ohm. Type Rs and Obsidian 12s are both rated for the same RMS, and I can get either one for $150 each.

What I'm asking for are some opinions from people with actual experience with either one of these subs, not speculation.

Also, I'm open to suggestions for anything else around the same price range as those two.

from what I saw with my type r's I'd go with them. They were taking 1700rms each for a while.

so youll have to wait for a recone if you blow it instead of driving to your local best buy.

does best buy even sell recone's, plus every lil high school kid in america runs type arggggghhhhhs so yea i would lol.

No they dont sell recones they probably just exchange the blown sub for a new one.

2012 will cost more and he's not looking at 2012's or they would have a higher rms rating.

well being the fact you have never owned a type R, and I own sa's right now so a very comparable sub. You tell me why OA's are better.

i have never owned type r's heard quite a few(before you say it they were in decent boxes) and i like how my oa's sound more they get louder and and sound good doing it. The point of my post wasn't really to down the r's more just the fact you said i would rather own the worst sub which is quite the opposite.

My bad, the RMS on the Type Rs is 1000. I'll probably end up going with them. Obsidians look like good subs, but the Type Rs seem to be the better deal in my situation

all im gonna say is i love my 2012 type R's. my electrical ***** balls right now so the bass keeps getting loud and low but once i get my batteries and nendo amp im gonna post a review and a video clip
