Type ARGGH, ported vs sealed

I listen to mostly classic rock, alternative, rock, a little bit of reggae, and some Lady Gaga type of music, pop or whatever it's called (sister's music...). Right now I have 350RMS feeding a 12" Type ARRGH, old version, 500RMS/1000 max ratings, in a 1.4cu prefab (both were a gift, no, I can't change my equipment, no $$$) and am looking to build a ported enclosure for it. It's all in a 2DR Blazer and I want to go ported.

I don't know much about the tuning or anything but I have the equipment to build it so I need to know how to calculate slot port tuning and volume is obviously easy to calculate.

I'm assuming the difference between ported and sealed will make a big difference and be worth the time and materials.

I would like to get good size and tuning frequency recommendations from you guys and then go from there. Any suggestions appreciated. Looking for SQL (as much as I can get with my equipment) more than SPL.

2.0-2.5 cu. ft. after displacement, tuned to 32hz. Type-R's definitely perform better in ported boxes.

Anything wrong with sub up port up? It would give me more room in the back of my Blazer.
