Hello,

yesterday was local dB Drag competition.

I tryed my luck and my record was 143.0dB with two Alpine Type R 12" powered by Alpine MRD-M1005 1000W rms @ 2Ohms. I was playing soundtrack.

Box is 5 cu.ft, tuned to 40Hz calculated by subwoofertools.

What you guys think about this? Can I get more dB with same amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Maybe this amp is too weak for two type r's ?

Maybe if I would tune box to 50Hz and play one freq. I would make more dB's?

What is your record with two Type R's?

Waiting for your comments //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

good score. was it music or burp? you're gonna need another amp since you have dual 2s and if you were to get another mrd, it wont be stable at a 1ohm load.

dont know my score yet for the two type rs but ill let you know tomorrow:D

btw, that's a big port and i thought i had more port. how much port area is that?

Dam good score for being D2's off just that amp. I had 2 D4 12" type R's in a cavalier facing back towards the trunk, but in a sealed box off a 1000rms at 1-ohm doing a 141.2 on certified TL.

Good numbers though.

I did 145 with one 15 and 2000watts...and at 36hz in the trunk of my Civic haha

You could get better make that box about 3cu and tuned the same should see an increase...good luck

Well civic is smaller car than Renault Laguna. :p

You want to say 3cu.ft for one Type R, or 3cu.ft for both Type R's?

I can't make bigger box than this because now I'm planning install amps on the trunk floors, so trunk height will be lower, so basically I can get only 5cu.ft. box maximum.

PS. This is NET Box Volume, with subs and port displacement.

And I don't think that these subs would get more db if i put both subs to 3 cu.ft box. I think it will be too small box.

not a bad score at all...if you want to scored higher you need to hook up with someone who has a termlab.......figure out the rt of that car(at what freq the vehicle resonates the highest) then built the next box to spec for the vehicles rt

is that a hatch back???and do you leave that plastiv cover down or what do you do with it???
Yes it's hatchback. Sorry forgot to say at first, plasic cover was removed also back seats was lowered down.

I was in Street B class. I don't know if in USA is same classes... I'm from Europe so maybe classes are diferent a little.

In Street B can be 1x15" or 2x12" or 4x10" subs. Almost everyone was removed back seats.

Well its not bad, but with Type Rs being the LOUDEST SUBS ever most people would probably say it should be higher.

Glad to see you're taking them for what they are and not overhyping them.

My best score on a low power situation was 140.3 on the termlab with 2 12" xplods and 300rms in my expedition @ 38hz.
