Two Jbl w12gti Mkii's Rms Discussion

Icon10 Two Jbl w12gti Mkii's Rms Discussion

Hey everyone, i have two Jbl W12'sgti mkii's in a L port enclosure tuned to 34 hz

I was wondering whats the max Rms these things can handle without sounding distorted

Jbl says 700 rms.. but i know these things can handle more.

Box specs

Width: 32''

Height: 15''

Depth: 32''

Port height: 13.5''

Port Length: 5''

I'm in the process of buying a new amplifier to drive these guys also, i was looking at a Q1-2200D So i could wire them down to a 1.5 final ohm load.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for looking:D:D

I wouldn't hesitate to put them on a 2500 to 3KW amp (provided your electrical can feed an amp that big). Keep in mind 1200W will heat up those coils pretty fast so you'll need to pay attention and turn it down when or if you start smelling the coils. Those are beast subs that sound great, if your box is built well you should be very happy.

I was looking into picking up a q1-2200D monoblock, and then doing the big 3 with 0 gauge ofc wire. I'd need to figure out where my battery wire runs to because my batteries located in my trunk. I was also going to pick up a H/O Alt.
