I've got a JL ZR 5 1/4 set

&

PG 6.5 Elite set (thanks guys who said Dynaudio..but look what else I'm getting to do with the $$ saved)

Running on a TRA880.5 Soundstream Tarantula (I couldn't beat the THD & Sensitivity)!

NUMBER OF CHANNELS: 5

OUTPUT (WATTS):RMS @ 4 Ohms 60x4+200x1

RMS @ 2 Ohms 120x4+400x1

RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms 240 X 2+400x1

T.H.D.:

Since both components sets are single VCs can you wire them in series? I would have a handle on it if they were both downsteam of the crossover but I'm not sure how to do it since there will be two x-overs. I'm looking to hit the 2 ohm mono load for 4 of the channels.

School me:graduate:

Changing the impedance load of the component sets by wiring them together to make it a two ohm load will not work. (never mind the mono part, you do want to listen to music in stereo, right?)

Giving a crossover that is designed for a nominal 4 ohm load a 2 ohm load will throw off the crossover frequencies since the ohm load is part of the equation for designing passive crossovers. At best, it will sound bad. At worst, you will blow them.

edit: I reread your post and saw that you will be bridging the 4 channels to 2 so they will be at 2 ohm mono playing in stereo together. (my bad) I don't think your amp will handle a 2 ohm mono load in the first place since that would be the same as a one ohm stereo load on all for channels. If you insist on running both sets of components with that amp, just wire it normally at a 4 ohm load. That is the only way it will work.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
