two 12s or two 10s

Alright, I dont think 4 is going to happen.

Anyone know of a pair of good 12s that can handle about 1500W+ rms and under 250 bucks for the pair? Ive found a pair of decent 10s.. but 12s would be better if doable.

honestly if u have the room for 4 10's your better off doing 2 15's or an 18. Best bet i could say for loud on 250 is 2 SSA dcon 15's, 2 sundown SA15's or an AQ HCD18( sundown and AQ will run more then 250, 2 dcons shipped is like 275)

3 sundown 8's would be balla too

arnt you the one with the 240 that we agreed on that you dont have the space for a single 15 let alone 4 10s?
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

maybe.

You know what *****, I DO have the space for a 15 inside the trunk, but once I built the box it wont fit into the trunk. An 8 only needs something like 1cu ft of air space ported right? I figured I just build 2 seperate boxes.

Ive found 2 FI SE 10s but I just hate knowing that I already have 2 10s... I know their better subs + triple the power going to them but I guess I dont see it making a huge difference. 2 12s sounds better.. but I cant find a pair in my price range..

i still and always will say your best bet will be to save up some more money (deal with the equipment you have for now) and when you have a better budget then pick up something that will actually perform instead of buying something you dont really like because you think you need to have it now.

Yeah I know what you mean man, no sense in wasting money on something when you want really want something else.

3 SA 8s would be cool but how the heck do wire that so you end up with 1 ohm load at the amp? lol

Maybe I'll do 2 decent 12s. I would do that if I could find a pair for under 250 bucks.. doesnt seem to exist, even used. I know they'll get loud in the right box with 1500W powering them..

2 12's is going to take a bigger box than a 15, and im not exactly sure that your figuring in port area/displacement into what you can fit.

i know in the back of my tib i can hardly fit a 15, but a single 12 is a breeze.

and with 3 sa-8s d4 you would wind up with a .66 nominal load which will be fine on that ap as long as you keep the electrical up.

you could also do the 3 8's and use a passive radiator or 2 instead of porting it, which will save you some space.

Right.. I would have to build 2 seperate boxes. Pretty sure it would work then.

Hmm.. so that is doable. Noob question. What the heck is a passive radiator?

Just looked up some more about it.. looks like it would cost more and from what I can tell, the only advantages would be space saving + less port noise.

As it is.. Im going to have to build 2-3 boxes to fit the 8s.

Like I said earlier Id be cool with a pair of good 12s. Lets say a budget of 250 bucks for both. Is that doable?

Edit- Actually.. I just thought about it. I live 2 hours from the guys at Sundown audio.. could just go pick them up and try to save money on shipping. But then again it would cost me 40 bucks in gas to get there and back.. not sure if I would be saving any shipping costs or not..

you like talking in circles dont you...

but anyway, a pair of 12s in that budget, youll just have to hunt around in the classifieds until you land on something.

while your in the classifieds try to find a single 12'' RF power HX2, it would love that amp and probably surprise you on the output.

hahahaha I dont mean to man but theres just so many options... it probably doesn't help that when I post its usually 3-4 in the morning. 3:41 right now.

Theres a guy on here that sells reconed SA8s 10s 12s and 15s.. 90+shipping a piece for the 8s, 120+shipping a piece for the 10s, and 130+shipping a piece for the 12s.

Thats almost in my budget.. so its always an option. Maybe sometime within the next 3-4 weeks some SA 12s will pop up for sale at a good price.. and I may actually see if I can find a used AP1800 amp instead of a new AP1500.. Ill get an extra 300W. Can two SA 12s handle 1800W RMS or is that too much power for them?

2n sa 12's can handle 1500 no issue. But unless you can get the ap1800 for the same price as the 1500 then just get the 1500 you would not notice a difference. If u go with sa-8's then need around .6cf after displacement each I tried .8 each and got mad mech noise which had alot to do with the box I was using and the amount of power I was sending them.

2 sa-12s will love that 1500.
we put a pair of them in the trunk of a cavalier on one of the ap1500s and it was doing a 43 on music, peaked around 40hz iirc.
Wow.

Well right now Im messaging a guy about a pair of 10" FI SSD D1s.. we will see. Their pretty good too from what Ive read.. 1000+ RMS a piece

And yea, I would only get the AP1800 amp if I found one on here used for 150ish
