Two 10s -> One 12 help.

as long as your amp is 2 ohm stable and I am assuming it is cuz thats what it would probably have been wired to with the two tens. connect the reds together and the blacks together. If its a new sub they supply jumpers for you but I tend not to use them and just jump with 12 ga.

So you just want to put one sub in your car?
Yes I have two 10s now, but going to one 12

Im a noob when it comes to this so bear with me. When you say connect the reds and blacks together, do you mean the two sets of wires I have going from the amp to the subs?

and yes its a new sub.

its a class d, one channel amp

KAC 8105D 500w RMS

The Alpine Type S is 500W RMS but I've heard that running 80-120% of that is ok

It's 2 ohm stable and the Alpine is 4 ohm dvc which means I can wire it down to 2 ohms. Just trying to figure out how I would go about wiring one sub when I have two wires lol

google cruchfield wiring diagrams, that'll tell ya exactly how to do it
yea tried that. Really didnt help with my question. I guess I'll just have to do trial and error since I dont think anyone is understanding my question lol.

On crutchfield it shows one set of wires coming from the amp to the one sub. Im saying I have TWO subs wired right now which means TWO wires coming from the amp.

Since I only have ONE sub, how would I go about wiring that? I have two sets of positive/negative wiring. Do i just use one set of wiring or mesh the both together?

sorry for the questioning. Just uber confused

Only using one set of wires or using both sets will have the same effect. You can either wire it like in the diagram or wire one set of wires to each voice coil.

The two sets of wires coming from the amp means nothing, it's just an added feature for conveniece. You'll have the same 2 ohm load either way.

Think of it this way - all the positives will be connected to each other and all the negatives will be connected to each other. The two sets of speaker outputs on your amp are already connected to each other inside the amp

Thanks this is what I needed. I more than likely will use both sets because Im kinda nervous to leave one set of bare wire just lingering in my trunk

You could just totally remove that set of wires from the amp, but do whatever suits you better, it'll have the same results.

Remove your other speaker wire and bridge the output on the amp by running the remaining speaker wire to a positive from one output of the amp, and the negative from the other output of the amp. Then run that to your one speaker with the voice coils wired up in parallel (red to red / black to black) Done deal

what do you mean bridge the output?

its a monoblock amp

some monoblock amps have 2 speaker outputs for ease of wiring sets of subs, even though they are one channel mono amps (Both My Orion & My Cadence Mono's Both have 2 speaker outputs) if you only have one set of speaker outputs then it's even more simple yet... Just remove one of the 2 speaker wires you have running into the amp...
