i heard a car with 4 horn tweeters spliced into the factory rear dash speakers and it sounded horrible. it sounded like he was listening to fluctuating pink noise.

Not at all! Horns have been used in car audio for years. However, they have to be setup, mounted, and imaged perfectly for good results.

Some people like 'em - some don't. I have never heard them, so I don't know. But I do know that Richard Clark's famous Grand National SQ car used horns - so there ya' go.

true, car stereo is all about the install. i guess laying scattered on the back dash doesn't qualify as a "install". but they didn't sound like they had any potential at all. also, do you think richard clark bought his off e-bay? he prolly had some we never even heard of.

I was just pointing out that they have been used with great success.
