tweeter wireing

do you have a crossover with them? the problem is that wiring them direct to the headunit you are probably sending a full signal to them instead of the freq. range they are capable of reproducing. this will lead to --- you guessed it---blown tweets. on the other hand if they came with a passive crossover you should be ok. you may want to consider some cheap inline bass blockers to supplement the crossover.

In an old system of mine I ran a cap in series from the tweets to the wiring on my front speakers to filter bass. Never had a problem and had great clarity.

what resistance is the cap?

this is the same idea that coaxial speakers use. in fact. coax speakers are just a midrange and a tweet hooked together with a cap between the singal before the tweeter.

so this works, you just gotta know what rating of capicator to use. anyone know off hand what a good choice would be? ive never done it, but ive seen it done.
