Tweeter wattage

I'm looking at the secs of my tweeters that came with one of my components and they say 15w rms. the component set state 80w rms. Is it the crossover that limits the wattage that goes to the tweeter? I ask because I want to put those tweeters on a different component set, so I need to know if I have to go and find what the other component set is limiting the wattage to the tweeter at. I hope that I stated that clearly.

Thanks

With component sets the power rating and impedance apply to the crossover, not the drivers. So yes, it's the crossover that limits the power to the tweeter. And if the crossover you plan to connect these tweets to is of similar power handling, then you'll be fine.

Nowhere near similar. I'm using the hertz HSK 165. I just prefer the focal tweeters. I dont know if the combo will definitely work but I want to try it if its possible. Since I'm going to use the hertz woofer and crossover, is there something I can put inline leading to the tweeter that will reduce the wattage?

Crossovers limit.power going.to the tweeter by limiting the frequencies going to the tweeter. Power is dvided by octaves in music so 2k to 4k to 8k 16k is only 4 octaves and that's a low playing tweeter.. figure out what frequency the crossover is ans make.sure impedance of the driverrs are the same.. if that set doesn't use an unusually low crossover point it.should be just fine 90% of the time.
