Tweeter vs. 3- 1/2

I have a dodge charger, on the dash there are inserts for (2) 3-1/2" speakers...What would be better sounding.. component tweeters or the 3.5's?

i guess no one has experience with the 3 1/2" speakers, i just dont want to drill a hole on my door for the tweeter when the dash already has inserts for the 3 1/2" speakers.
