Tweeter placement - Door or A-piler?

Have JL Audio components. Got the 6.5s in the door and the tweeters in the A-pilers(Factory locations).

Want to get/make kick panel eventually, but for now should I leave the tweeters in the piler or would it make a big difference in SQ if I moved them to the door panels next to the midbase speakers. The tweeters can be aimed.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

People have had mixed luck with putting tweeters in the A panels. I'd guess it has a bit to do with crossover frequencies, but some people swear it works, other swear it doesn't. Try both.

EDIT: FPD!!

Update

I moved the tweets from the pillars to the kick panel and aimed them at the dome light. In the kick panels they are about 5 inches away from midbass door speakers.

They sound alot better this way.

i found the same thing, but i think i'm gonna use the upstage and put a second sset of tweets up on the dash to bring my sound stage higher

there are cars with factory A-piller tweets?
VW's do. works pretty good up there. It isn't perfect but imaging is above dash level and in front of me. None of that extending out to the hood but satisactory all the same. Rumor is the higher the X-over point of the components the more successful a-pillar tweeters are.
