tweeter crossover slope?

i been having a problem with my tweeters cracking at certain musical peaks.. i always thought it might of been the fact ig ot a sony amp (just ordered a new jbl gto) but after doing some testing...

i wont know for sure till i get the new amp but could the problem possibly be the crossover slope on my tweeter is too low? right now its a 12 db slope at 5k and when it cracks it alwatys at a point in the music when it playing a frequency really high on the woofer and really low on the tweeter.. so could the tweeter trying to be playing a frequency in the 2.5K range louder then it can handle?

and if so i guess my answer would be to bi amp or new crossovers with a 18-24db slope to get those extra db's out of the tweeters? or could it be because my amp is a pos and cant handle the change in ohms?

ok after doing some more testing im almost 99% sure its because my tweeter is trying to play a frequency thats very very low... probaly around 50 hz or so anyway

if you have a 12 db slope at 5000 hz then at 2500 hz it would play 12 db's lower and at 1250 -24 right?

and im gonna bi amp eventually but until could i just hook up a bass blocker to the tweeter? or would that not make a diff

no cause the alpine doesnt have one... i happy to have two extra crossovers that are the same (5k -12db slope) so for now i can wire the tweeter part in series and accomplish the same until i can do it in a proper way
