turning sub amp on and off

okay guys i really need to know how to hook up a toggle so i can just turn my sub amp on and off not my comp. amp. i have a toggle all ready hooked up i just need to know what wire to hook it to. i had it hooked to my remote wire but when i fliped it, it would turn off both. so can u guys help me so when i pull in the school parking lot i can still listen to my music with out the bumping so nobody knows i got a system.

run a seperate remote through your switch for the sub amp.

What kinda HU are you running? Some HUs have an option to turn the subwoofer preouts off without affecting the rest of the system...

Almost all new hu have that option. I asked this question on another forum a couple years ago. If you have a sub pre out it should be a matter of a couple of buttons. On my excelon its one button. On my Alpine ts five or six. I turn my subs off when my son gets in my car or truck so he doesnt go deaf like I will
